The Lancaster Journal of Philosophy accepts papers regarding any philosophical discipline. This includes, but is not limited to, metaphysics, epistemology, and axiology. We accept both original papers, and also response papers to previously published work within the journal.
The Lancaster Journal of Philosophy prides in excellence and originality. Your paper must not be published elsewhere. While we recognise you may submit your paper to different journals to increase chances of publication, you must contact the editors as soon as your paper has been accepted by another journal, prior to the paper's acceptance in this journal.
The author retains the right to any work they submit, prior to the publication date of the particular journal issue; this date will be specified with at least two weeks warning. However, once the paper has been published it cannot be recalled.
Formalities
To reduce the waiting time between submission and paper acceptance, each paper must be formatted to match the following style before submission:
Word length for articles between 3,000 - 10,000 (excludes references);
Word length for response articles between 1,000 - 10,000 (excludes references);
Abstract length of no more than 150 words;
Standard 12 point font in Times New Roman;
Single spaced, with one inch margins on all sides of the paper;
All referencing must be done using footnotes in Oxford Referencing Style. Subsequently, no bibliography is required. Details on how to do this can be found here.
